This Privacy Policy explains how Modern Garden Labs LLC ("Modern Garden Labs", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares information when you visit our website at moderngardenlabs.com (the "Site") or use our mobile applications, including Ollora (together with the Site, the "Services").
By using the Services you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account in one of our apps we collect your name, email address and password, or the identifier provided by a sign-in service such as Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Content you add. Plants, spaces, notes, tasks, harvest records, photos and messages you send to the in-app assistant.
- Correspondence. Messages you send us by email or through support forms.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, crash reports and how you interact with the Services.
- Approximate location. If you allow it, the app uses your location to determine your climate zone and growing season. You can also enter a location manually.
- Camera and photos. With your permission the app accesses the camera and photo library so you can identify plants and attach photos to your records. Photos are processed to provide these features and stored with your account.
- Sensors. The light meter feature uses the device camera or ambient light sensor to estimate light levels. These readings are not linked to images of you.
The Site itself does not require an account and does not use advertising cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Services, including plant identification, care recommendations and reminders.
- To create and secure your account and sync your data across devices.
- To send service messages such as reminders you have turned on, account notices and replies to your requests.
- To understand how the Services are used, fix problems and develop new features.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
AI features
Photos and questions you submit to AI features are processed by our systems and by third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf in order to generate an answer. 3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that host our infrastructure, store data, send notifications, process AI requests, or provide analytics and crash reporting, and only as needed to perform those services for us.

- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to your information.
- With your consent or at your direction, for example when you choose to share content from the app.
4. Data retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion. You can review and edit most of your information in the app. You can delete your account from the app settings or by emailing us; this removes your content from our systems as described above.
- Permissions. You can revoke camera, photo, location and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features will not work without them.
- Marketing. We do not send marketing email without your consent, and every marketing message includes a way to opt out.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to request a copy of your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of California may exercise the rights granted by the California Consumer Privacy Act; residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland may exercise the rights granted by the GDPR and equivalent laws. 6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers from the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
